The Wellness Club Monthly ✨
Hello October 🍂
There’s something about October that makes me want to slow down a little! The mornings are getting darker, the evenings are getting cosier, and suddenly we’re heading into the final few months of the year. Where has the time gone?! But rather than waiting for January to make a fresh start, October can be a really lovely time to pause, reset and check in with yourself. How are you feeling? Are you moving your body in a way you enjoy? Are you making time for the things — and people — that make you feel good? And are you giving yourself enough space to rest too? For me, this time of year is a reminder that wellness doesn’t have to mean doing more. Sometimes it’s about coming back to the basics: moving your body, eating nourishing food, getting outside, connecting with people you love and finding little moments of joy in your everyday life. We still have a few months left of 2026 — and I don’t want us to write the year off and wait for January. Let’s finish it feeling strong, energised and connected, rather than feeling like we need to start all over again. And speaking of connection… what a beautiful reminder our September Wellness Club morning was.
A little look back 🤍 Saturday 19th September was one of those mornings that reminded me exactly why I created The Wellness Club. Movement, healthy food, lots of chatting, new connections, plenty of laughter… and, of course, a slightly unexpected sea swim! 🌊 To everyone who joined me at Burnley Hall — THANK YOU! I hope you left feeling a little lighter, happier and more connected than when you arrived. And if you were brave enough to get in the sea… WELL DONE! I absolutely loved seeing everyone encouraging each other — and yes, I actually got in too! Thank you for the encouragement… and Penny, I blame you entirely for the challenge! 😂 Here are a few photos from the morning for you to have a little look through, smile at and hopefully relive some of the fun. I absolutely love these. 🤍

Our next Wellness Club morning is now OPEN for bookings! Saturday 7th November 9:00am Broad Hall Farm Green Lane, Rockland St Mary Norfolk, NR14 7HW If you loved our September morning, I’d absolutely love for you to join us again — and if you’ve never been to one of our Wellness Club gatherings before, this is your perfect chance to come along. 🌸 What’s planned? We’ll be starting at 9:00am with our usual full-body Wellness Club class — a feel-good, all-levels session to get you moving and energised. And then I have something a little special planned… Our lovely Penny will be leading us through a beautiful flower-arranging session 🌸 So expect a morning of movement, creativity, connection and a little bit of fun — the perfect way to spend a Saturday morning. Let's talk about bone's health 🦴
Bone health is something I’ve become much more aware of personally over the last few years. I had been without a period for over 10 years and had very low oestrogen, and at 37 I discovered that this had affected my bone health. I had a DEXA scan and I found out that I had osteoporosis. It was definitely a wake-up call — not something I ever imagined I’d be thinking about at 37! But I don't want this to sound scary or like a “poor me” story. If anything, it has made me much more interested in understanding our bones and what we can do to look after them before there is a problem. One of the biggest things I’ve become even more passionate about is strength training. 💪 If you don't currently do any strength training, please don't think you need to suddenly join a gym and start lifting heavy weights! Strength training can start with your own body weight and can be built up gradually. Resistance exercise helps maintain and improve bone strength, and the Royal Osteoporosis Society recommends strength training 2-3 times per week combining impact exercise as part of looking after your bones. A little exercise to try for beginers Here's a really simple one you can do at home: 10 x Sit-to-Stands 🪑 Sit on a sturdy chair 👣 Feet about hip-width apart ⬆️ Stand up, using your hands for support if you need to ⬇️ Slowly lower yourself back down 🔁 Repeat 10 times That's it! If that feels easy, you could eventually add some resistance or progress the movement. If you're completely new to strength training, start where you are and build gradually. And if you're thinking, “I know I should be doing strength training but I have absolutely no idea where to start…” — you know where to find me! 😉🤍 That's exactly what I'm here for. Whether you're completely new to strength training, want to learn how to use weights confidently, or simply need someone to help you make it part of your routine, just send me a message. And to everyone who trains with me or is already doing strength training — well done! 💪🏼 Please don’t give up. Keep showing up, keep lifting, keep challenging your body. You might not see or feel the benefits every day, but you are doing so much more for your bones and your long-term health than you probably realise. 🦴 Every squat, every lift, every rep counts. Keep going — your future self (and your bones!) will thank you for it. 🤍 Food matters too 🍊 My experience has also made me pay much more attention to the foods I’m eating and making sure I’m including plenty of calcium-rich foods. I've been looking for little ways to add more calcium into my day — things like dried figs, calcium-set tofu, tahini, sesame seeds and fortified plant-based drinks. I’ve been having Plenish Almond Milk for a long time, but they’ve recently brought out a new Oat Milk, enriched with calcium so I’ve ordered some to give it a go — I’ll let you know what I think! A balanced diet, calcium, vitamin D and regular exercise all form part of looking after our bones. And because I always like to make healthy eating enjoyable as well as nutritious, I wanted to share one of my recent recipes with you. It’s simple, delicious and a lovely way to bring some plant-based goodness to the table. Fig, Artichoke & Balsamic Galette

Serves 6 For the pastry: 175g plain flour 100g wholemeal flour 5 tbsp olive oil 125ml cold water Pinch of sea salt For the filling: 4 figs, quartered 1 tbsp maple syrup 1 tbsp balsamic vinegar 4 small shallots, finely sliced Drizzle of olive oil • Pinch of sea salt & black pepper For the artichoke sauce: 160g artichoke hearts 6 tbsp coconut yoghurt 2 tbsp nutritional yeast Zest & juice of 1 lemon 1 small garlic clove 2 tbsp water
Method: 1. Preheat the oven to 200°C fan / 220°C and place a large baking tray inside to heat. 2. To make the pastry, combine both flours and the salt in a large bowl. Stir through the olive oil, rubbing it in with your fingertips if needed. Add the cold water and mix until a dough forms. Shape into a ball. 3. Roll the pastry between two sheets of baking parchment into a rough 30cm circle and set aside. 4. Add all the artichoke sauce ingredients to a blender with a pinch of salt and plenty of black pepper. Blend until smooth. 5. Toss the figs with the maple syrup and balsamic vinegar. 6. Remove the top sheet of baking parchment and spread the artichoke sauce over the pastry, leaving a 3cm border. Top with the figs, shallots and remaining artichoke hearts. 7. Fold the edges of the pastry over the filling, gently pinching as you go. Drizzle the filling with olive oil, brush a little over the pastry and season with salt and pepper. 8. Carefully transfer the galette (still on the baking parchment) onto the hot baking tray. Bake for 45 minutes, until the pastry is golden and the figs are sticky. Leave to cool for 5 minutes before slicing and serving.
SOO... this month's recommendation 👇🏻
One of the things that really opened my eyes to my own health was having my DEXA scan at NuMi. It was through my health check that I discovered I had osteoporosis, and honestly, it was such a reminder of how valuable it can be to understand what's actually going on inside your body rather than simply guessing. If you've ever thought about having a health check or finding out a little more about your own health, you can have a look at what Maria and the team at NuMi offer here: EXPLORE NuMi HEALTH CHECKS → And Maria has very kindly given my community 15% off with my code: VICREEVE-15
A little reminder before you go…
If there’s one thing I’d love you to take away from this month’s newsletter, it’s this: you don’t have to do everything perfectly to make a difference. Whether you’re already lifting weights, getting your steps in, eating a little more protein, looking after your bones, or simply trying to move your body more — keep going. And if you’re already doing strength training with me, well done! Don’t underestimate what you’re doing for your body and your bones. Every session, every squat, every lift and every rep is helping you build strength for the future. 🦴💪🏼 Small things, done consistently, really do add up. Thank you, as always, for being part of my little corner of the internet. I’m so grateful to everyone who trains with me, comes along to The Wellness Club, follows along online, or simply reads these newsletters each month. See you next month 🤍 Vic x
