I would like to share the story of one of my amazing clients, Lakshmi—an inspiring Indian woman in her early 50s who is navigating the changes of menopause with strength and confidence.
Lakshmi joined my HIIT classes in 2022. She was quiet, shy, and not very confident in herself, but she showed up CONSISTENTLY. That consistency became her superpower. She worked hard on her form, stayed committed to learning, and kept coming back—even when it was tough.
Coming from a culture where exercise and fitness are rarely prioritised for women, Lakshmi’s journey is even more powerful. In many Indian households, the idea of women taking time for themselves, especially to focus on their bodies and wellbeing, is simply not common. But Lakshmi chose to break that mold.
She always has the loving support of her husband, Rama (who I also train). With his encouragement and her own quiet determination, Lakshmi began to feel the difference—more energy, better mood, more confidence.
That’s when we also started personal training at her home. We also worked together on her nutrition, making small, realistic changes.
Fast forward to now: Lakshmi has lost over 15 kilos, but more importantly, she’s found a version of herself that she never thought possible. She’s confident, strong, and glowing. She’s become a role model in her community, showing other women that it is possible to take control of your health—no matter your age, background, or where you’re starting from.
Lakshmi is living proof that small steps, taken consistently, can lead to life-changing results. I’m so proud of her and honoured to be part of her journey.
If you’re a woman struggling with where to begin, or feeling like your body is working against you—please know you’re not alone. Lakshmi’s story is just one example of what’s waiting for you on the other side of that first brave step.
Great Job!!!!!!!!!
